Surrendering a pet/Rehoming

The shelter should be the absolute last place to put your pet. We have a waitlist we will put you on IF you need to surrender a pet, and we will only contact you back if you do the following and do YOUR part on also trying to rehome the pet.

1st- Please contact us and let us know you are wanting to surrender a pet

2nd- We will tell you that there is a waitlist since we always have one, and we will put you on that waitlist

3rd- If you want to be contacted when it is your turn on the waitlist, we will check if you have made any efforts on finding the pet a home, that includes checking your facebook page to see if you posted your pet, and also if you posted your pet on Home-Home.org ( a free rehoming site for pets). If you fail to do those 2 things we will not contact you nor take your pet if there was no effort in rehoming it.

Other Options

There is also another option. We have people reach out almost everyday needing help rehoming a pet, but they don’t want the pet to come to the shelter, so your other option is emailing us pictures and a bio of the pet as detailed as possible, which we will then post on our shelter facebook page to try to assist you on finding the pet a home. This works 90% of the time and helps for pets to not come to the shelter
